Assistant Team Manager – Warehouse
Full job description
Lidl
Salary: £38,976 – £48,720 per year
At Lidl we’re hitting the headlines for all the right reasons. Having opened 24 new stores in 2015 we now aim for 40-50 stores a year. That means by the end of 2016 we are looking at keeping a total of 660 stores fully stocked. That‘s no small task for our warehouses, so our growth hasn’t stopped at store level; to keep on top of matching 24/7 supply and demand we are opening two new Distribution Centres in 2016 and have a more planned for 2017. With an ever expanding product range flowing in and out, including fresh and frozen produce as well as an impressive non-food range, it’s essential that they are received, stored and delivered on time and in excellent condition into our stores.
In return for your hard work and passion within this fast paced environment, you will receive in-depth training and development for your first 12 months. To get the most out of your training, you will need to be fully flexible with location as any of our existing warehouses will provide you with insights on all aspects of our Transport, Logistics and Distribution functions. Upon completion, you will then be ready to take responsibility for your own team within the warehouse, where you will oversee the daily operations and organise warehouse inventories. You will lead, train and motivate your team to meet strict deadlines, maximise productivity levels and guarantee our high standards of quality.
As an entry level role, this position offers incredible opportunities to progress in our thriving operation and is open to graduates ideally with leadership experience, in the field of retail or logistics. You will possess inspirational leadership skills with a desire to motivate teams. Attention to detail is key, as well as being fully flexible in terms of location. You comfortably multi-task and thrive under pressure, showing drive, ambition, natural confidence and an analytical approach. Please be aware that flexibility to travel nationwide is a requirement for this role. Where possible we will try and accommodate you in your preferred location, however with stores nationwide, you would be required to go where your job and your training takes you.
We plan to hold an Assessment Centre in April 2016 with second stage
