Salary: £36,000 – £96,000 per year

Individuals must possess experience within the offshore sector. This position has flexibility with location.

Our client is a leading specialist multi-disciplinary consultancy, providing innovative geotechnical, geo-environmental, structural and civil engineering solutions across a broad range of the infrastructure, construction, regeneration, on and offshore, renewable energy and urban or commercial development sectors. Due to sustained growth and a significant expansion in the offshore, renewable energy and windfarm sectors, our client wishes to appoint two Geotechnical Engineers to help support their continued progression and market domination within this arena. The location is flexible and thus will be predominately working from home. You will plan, prioritise and manage all design works, and be responsible for ensuring technical project design and delivery excellence, and governance over work winning and contract technical issues for the company. You will provide guidance to other members of the team and Directors on all aspects relating to project design and delivery activities for the company’s offshore projects and clients.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to);

* You will primarily be working on analysis, interpretation and design activities; however some offshore supervision of site investigations may be required from time to time

* The successful candidate will be responsible for geological and geotechnical interpretation, and production of ground models and interpretive reports, coupled with general foundation design production, including jack-up assessments, pile design, monopile analysis, pile driveability, and preparation of geotechnical risk assessments

* Ensure that designs adhere to policies in line with business objectives, and ensure the company complies with industry standards BS and Eurocodes etc), legal requirements and best practice procedures

* Provide structural design solutions to meet all of the requirements and key drivers of any given contract or client requirements

* Produce designs which are cost effective, aligned to the specification, and which can be developed, procured, installed, constructed and delivered effectively, safely and efficiently

* Liaise with clients, suppliers, internal teams and external consultants or stakeholders to deliver project designs to a high standard from concept stage to construction

* Ensure that innovative designs and design practices are utilised wherever possible

* Produce outlined designs for a wide range of contracts, and assist or support bids and tenders

* Furthermore, your key responsibilities will also include;

* Site investigation and survey management

* Preparation of geotechnical specifications and reports

* Geotechnical and geological desk studies

* Site assessments and geotechnical interpretation

* Geotechnical risk management

* Manage laboratory test campaigns, and specification of tests and reviewing reports

* Foundation design including jackup assessment, pile-soil-interaction and pile driveability

* Ground model development

* Integrating geophysical and geotechnical data

Expertise Required

* Possess a relevant degree coupled with demonstrable working knowledge of the geotechnical engineering sector, from either a consultancy or contractor background, some of which must be from any area of the offshore sector (essential requirement)

* There is a large degree of flexibility with the level of experience our client requires, this can be anything from 2-3 years all the way up to 15+ years

* Offer a good knowledge of geotechnical engineering and design, covering both conventional and non-conventional foundations and piling etc

* A confident user of specialist geotechnical design software packages

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Knowledge and understanding of pre-construction and procurement processes

* Knowledge of construction techniques and the general sequence of events for a wide variety of contracts, schemes and project applications within any area of the offshore sector
