Salary: £60,000 – £84,000 per year
This is a new position created by growth and the requirement to further strengthen the management team. The Logistics Manager will be an integral part of the team that manages a high volume textile recycling operation, organising and overseeing the company’s Transport Management teams and its fleet of vans and drivers who are tasked with up to 2,000 collections each day from recycling bins.
Key tasks of the Logistics Manager include:
Management of the logistics operations from two sites.
Control and direction of Transport Managers, Administrators and drivers.
Management of a logistics operation that runs 7 days per week.
Supervision of a transport fleet running double shifts.
Ensuring delivery against KPI’s; the timely and effective collection of recycling materials; up to 2,000 pick ups daily.
Oversee routing through the Transport Teams; optimised by utilising Map Mechanics software.
Manage the warehousing and staff on two sites.
Management of 10 trailers per week (collections for clients); orderly planning & documentation.
Recruitment and development of office staff and drivers.
Future developments include the establishment of a site in the Midlands. The Logistics Manager will be the Project Manager for this important new opening; responsible for identifying and sourcing the location and its suitability, then ensuring that the operation has the resources in place; facilities and people.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Logistics Manager accustomed to managing high volume delivery / collection services. This experience will have been gained in a SME (small to medium enterprise), as this key individual will understand the necessity to be ‘hands on’ in supporting the day to day activities of the business, as well as being able to take a strategic view in relation to developing the company, its systems and processes relating to logistics.
The attractive remuneration package comprise a value based (negotiable) salary between £60,000 – £84,000based on skills and competences, 25 days + statutory holidays and further benefits after a qualifying period.
