A Leading Waste Management and Environmental Services Company operating throughout the UK.

The Role
Our client is looking to welcome a new Transport / Commercial Supervisor to their Waste Management and Recycling Collections Company. The main purpose of the Transport / Commercial Supervisor will be to supervise the day-to-day collection operations for the area; you will be responsible for all local drivers and operational staff. You will also ensure compliance with transport and working time directives, whilst achieving company financial, productivity and quality targets.

Some of your key responsibilities may include the following:

· Prepare schedules of work for all operational staff, liaising closely with the transport coordinators to identify resource implications and ensure required collection vehicles and drivers are available to cover daily tasks in order to maintain high levels of service;

· Drive the productivity of the collection fleet through effective planning and communication of daily and weekly tasks; ensure daily tasks are completed and that all driver paperwork is properly and fully completed in a timely manner;

· Monitor working time and tachograph compliance and manage operational costs to ensure the most cost effective use of resources;

· Adhere to all Company H&S procedures and attend and fully participate in site H&S meeting and training courses as instructed including ensuring all staff are properly inducted. Complete a monthly H&S report

· Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained; assist the Transport Manager in organising planned maintenance and testing schedules;

· Ensure payroll and personnel information is communicated to Head Office in accordance with Group policies/procedures

Person Specification
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 2 years experience as a Transport Supervisor. Candidates will ideally have experience within the Waste and Recycling sector although this is not essential. Candidates will have a high attention to detail and excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with staff, clients, public etc. CPC and IOSH are not essential but are desirable.
