Payroll Officer

Salary: £33,600 per year

The Role 

This 10 month contract will work within the small finance team, processing two payrolls (monthly c125 employees, and fortnightly, flexible 100-1000 casual workers) as well as all elements of the Accounts Payable process.

 The key responsibilities include; 

• Fortnightly payroll processing
• Monthly payroll processing
• Weekly / monthly payroll reports /spreadsheets
• Responding to payroll queries (internal & external -HMRC, DWP etc
• Pension, statutory and AOE payments
• Ad hoc payments relating to payroll
• Accounts payable / supplier invoice processing
• Supplier account remittance review
• Responding to supplier & internal queries 
• Check internal sign off/ Purchase orders
• Set up new suppliers in system
• Fortnightly supplier / expenses payment run 
• Review bank items entered by junior and post in system
• Ad hoc bank payments
• Monthly journals posted in system

The Candidate 

Our client are looking for a candidate with experience running payroll and an understanding of the possible complexities (i.e. SSP). You will be confident liaising with HMRC where needed and ideally have experience using Payroll Professional (iRIS). 

You will have excellent time management skills and be highly numerate. 

Experience in wider accounts support (especially AP) would be beneficial, however is not essential. 

The Terms 

This full-time role is being offered with a high level of flexibility in terms of its hybrid nature with a minimum requirement of one day per year in the London Bridge based office. A salary of circa £33,600is available along with a benefits package and a flexible working pattern due to the businesses core hours (11am to 3pm) policy.
