Nuclear Safety Engineering Consultant
Our client is looking for Safety Engineering Consultants with nuclear submarine experience to join their Asset Performance Services business line, as part of their exciting growth plans. You will be a part of the team which delivers world-class solutions to their varied client base.
Successful candidates will be degree educated in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related disciplines and will have worked as a Nuclear Safety Engineer, with some post-graduate experience.
About the Role
As Nuclear Safety Engineer, you will support the delivery of safety projects to schedule, quality and budget, whilst meeting client and corporate expectations including:
An understanding of functional safety requirements and associated design substantiation
The safety management of Nuclear Facilities and compliance with associated Authorisation Conditions or Site Licensing Conditions
Experience in the application of the UK MOD approach to safety regulation, policy and standards relevant to submarine safety such as: Defence Safety Authority (DSA) Policy, Defence Nuclear Safety Regulations, Defence Maritime Regulations, Naval Authority Certification, Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) Safety Policy and Management
Have practical experience in the development and management of hazard logs; supporting and facilitating HAZID and hazard review meetings; and authoring safety assessment/ safety case reports, including the provision of justification of the ALARP status of the product
Demonstrable experience and knowledge of statutory safety legislation and how to attain, and manage, legislation complianceBenefits

Salary: Negotiable
Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client’s site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to sole British Citizens. Applicants who meet these criteria will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
