Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year
Our East Midlands based client is seeking an Engineering Manager with a logistics and supply chain background to support the relocation of one of its distribution centres to Sweden.
This exciting role provides engineering support to the European Supply Chain leadership team. Through personal and technical skills and initiative you will be responsible for delivering solutions and support for the operations team in their achievement of corporate goals and continuous improvement. The core focus of this position is providing engineering support, such as site improvements, process reviews, project planning and control to facilitate improved operational performance (Productivity, Quality, Service, and Space Utilization). The key focus will be on site development and installation but will require a level of industrial engineering and the ability to analyse data and information.
We are looking for a candidate with;
* A Degree in Engineering or a related area or equivalent.
* Demonstrable engineering experience within a warehousing and logistics / FMCG manufacturing environment.
* A broad understanding of core warehouse processes and the ability to learn new concepts.
* A high level of analytical and computer skills with experience utilising analytical tools (MS Access and SQL Server preferred) and databases
* General project management skills and the ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects
* Experience in modeling and optimizing warehouse storage capacity with the goal of optimized cube utilization and improved efficiency
* The analytical qualities to make sound decisions, through the conceptualization and evaluation of different courses of action to meet or exceed operational goals issues, and to validate data outcomes
* Strong systems knowledge and project management skills
* The ability to understand the links between performance results and operational activities.
Whilst the role will be based in the East Midlands, if you wish to be considered for this position you MUST be willing/ able to frequently travel to/ work in Sweden. The salary on offer is in the region of £48,000 – £60,000.
