Salary: £66,000 – £78,000 per year

My client is a leading charity based in Sheffield they support people and communities to overcome some of the most pressing social challenges they are facing through digital technology.

About the role

This is an exciting role for an ambitious accountant / Assistant Director of Finance who wants to make a real difference. You will be taking over the role from one of their founding Directors on their retirement and you will report to the Senior Management Team and Board.

You will take responsibility for all finance strategies, systems and processes, leading the UK finance team and working closely with our colleagues overseas too. You will also provide expert insight and support to the organisation on:

best practice in charity accounting ensuring we meet meets all statutory obligations

costing and pricing of projects, services and products

budget management

financial due diligence, internal audit and anti fraud

But as well as this, you will have to be prepared to roll up your sleeves and pick up the day to day processing of transactions if needed. You will be a member of the dynamic and ambitious leadership team that is ensuring they meet their goals.

Essential experience

As Assistant Director of Finance it is essential that you are able to demonstrate that you possess the following experience, knowledge, skills, education, and qualifications (see job description for full details):

Experience of leading a finance team in a small to medium sized organisation or leading a finance function in a larger organisation and experience of all aspects of financial management

Experience of setting up and improving financial management systems, controls and reporting

Experience of pricing and costing in a complex environment

Demonstrable experience of undertaking work using your own initiative

Experience of contributing to the development of strategy, business plans and organisational development

Experience of empowering staff to perform at their best

Demonstrable experience of contributing to the wider corporate needs of an organisation beyond your immediate job description
