PRODUCTION PLANNER
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced PRODUCTION PLANNER to join an established family-owned business based in Leeds. They are a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical power distribution equipment and pioneers of super low loss amorphous transformer technology. Their flagship product saves money, saves energy, cuts carbon, and offers an innovative solution to the worldwide challenge of reducing energy wastage.
As Production Planner you will plan the production schedule by liaising with sales, engineering, and operations to ensure fulfilment of order schedules.
Key areas include:
- Produce the production schedule
- To develop the production planning process, considering all inputs, skill sets, capacity availability, production process, versus the demands of the order book
- Define daily and weekly production plans
- Manage capacity planning and resources to ensure products are completed on time and in full
- Maintain and update the Progress system.
- Work with Contracts and Engineering and to ensure that the planning data is correct and updated when required
- Conduct scenario analysis and recovery plans.
- Update the Contracts and Production teams on any changes or possible issues
- Analyse and revise production plans and update deadlines.
- Attend relevant meetings to ensure production flow is efficient and to schedule.
- Identify root cause of any issues and implement corrective actions.
- Continually review and develop our planning system and processes
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- in production planning is essential
- Strong knowledge of capacity planning is essential
- Experience of working within an engineering environment
- Experience of working with transformers is desirable
- SAP experience is essential
- Demonstrable experience of system and process improvement
- Experience working with Progress software is desirable
- Ability to work to strict timelines
- Continuous improvement capabilities
Salary and benefits:
- Salary negotiable dependant on experience
- 37.5 hours per week office based
