Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year
Position will cover sites on the Moray Coast
Job Purpose
To be responsible for the delegated operational management of the Moray PFI project within Veolia Water Operational Services (VWOS). To act as the focal point within the Unit for operational issues; to plan, implement and operate within the assigned budget and to respond to all operational problems.
To operate the process plant and all associated works so as to meet all operating targets as defined in the PFI North (Tay, Moray & Highland) Business Plan. To ensure that all data and information required contractually or by VWOS head office is provided promptly and accurately.
To ensure all statutory Quality and Safety policies and regulations are implemented, and that all company policies are implemented and maintained to the required standard.
To liaise with the Engineering Services Controller and Operations & Asset Managers to ensure all maintenance requirements (including project work) are carried out safely and promptly, at least cost to the business.
To undertake all management responsibilities including managing performance for the Operations staff within the Moray Project.
Key Responsibilities for the role
1. Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards are met;
2. Ensures compliance with SHEQ regulations including managing contractors;
3. Ensures O&M and QA obligations are fulfilled;
4. Schedules & plans resources and activities;
5. Analyses, diagnoses and resolves complex problems;
6. Manages Moray Operational budget;
7. Provides specialist technical advice and support;
8. Appraises and develops staff;
9. Represents Manager when required.
The job requires:
NVQ2 Waste Water Treatment or relevant experience
IOSH Managing Safely or similar qualification
Full Driving License
Demonstrates the ability to lead in a challenging environment.
The role requires individuals to be:
Confident, flexible and professional at all times, able to work effectively and lead the Moray Operations team;
Able to make sound decisions based on technical knowledge taking into account environmental impact and other business critical issues;
Coaches less experienced members of the team and ensure that performance is managed;
Has ownership of the Moray project;
Ensures that H&S policies are applied correctly and consistently.
