Technical Sales & Design Engineer – Heat Exchangers

Salary: £48,000 – £66,000 per year

A brilliant opportunity to work with a worldwide company that designs and supplies large heat exchangers across multiple large industry names. They have over 40 years experience and are now owned by a large investment group which gives them the finance to compete with their larger competitors but still are small enough that they can be flexible and move quicker than their competitors. They specialise in bespoke equipment to make sure it’s not a ‘one size fits all’ process. In the world of heat exchangers they are people who can give their much larger competitors a black eye.

Due to expansion they are looking for Technical Sales Design Engineer, you will be:-

• Working 2 days from the office in Watford and the rest at home – this will be more office based initially to get y7ou trained up and up to speed with the company
• Getting sales leads from inbound phone calls and email, speaking with the company to get the details, and producing a quote and rough design – this is then passed to the sales team to take forward (60-70% of business will be repeat business)
• Liaising with the client and sales team until the sale is completed
• Producing quotes from anything from 1k to 200k on the component side and 200k to 1 million on full systems
• Dealing with customers in the food production sector, the pharmaceutical sector, large industry in the water and water recovery sectors

Preferred Skills / background

• Living within travelling distance to their office in Watford
• Basic experience needed within the thermal or heat exchangers industry along with some basic design experience
• Having sales experience would be of benefit but is not essential
• You need to have good account management and people skills and see this as a good career move with a worldwide, well known name in the industry
