Location: Central London
Salary: £40,320 – £42,000 + £3k London Location Allowance, Excellent Benefits package

A prestigious Government body is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious IT professional with strong interpersonal skills to join their team in Central London. Prior experience as an Information Security Manager is not essential. Applications are welcome from candidates with experience working in a 2nd/3rd line support role.

The purpose of the role is to provide guidance to staff on information security best practice, conduct information security workshops, undertake audits, report on ongoing issues and implement information security policies.

• Prior experience as an Information Security Manager is not essential. Applications are welcome from candidates with experience working in a 2nd/3rd line support role or from a similar background
• The ability to deliver presentations
• The ability to write reports
• Able to explain complex technical issues in terms that non-technical managers and staff will understand
• The ability to assess systems threats, vulnerabilities and risks.

Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance to staff on information security best practice
• Conduct information security workshops
• Undertake audits
• Report on ongoing issues and implement information security policies
• Ensure compliance with Security Policy Framework (SPF) and associated HMG Information Security Standards.
• Keep abreast of developments and changes in government and industry information assurance policies and practices with a specific emphasis on Protecting Personal Data and Managing Information Risk.
• Assist department/division managers and service providers to remain proactive in assessing and minimising information security risks and business impacts arising from information processing and ICT services and systems threats and vulnerabilities.
• Author, update and advise on changes to information risk management and information security policies and procedures as well as oversee their implementation with managers and staff.
• Monitor the effectiveness of security policies and practices covering physical, procedural and technical controls
• Assist and advise on aspects of ICT security ensuring that risk management and accreditation is embedded within all stages of project and systems lifecycle.
• Monitor and keep under review the security incident management/reporting processes and maintain/monitor the information security risk register/s for specific areas/systems and the overall organization.
