Information Security Lead

Salary: £48,000 – £72,000 per year

My client is a fast-growing company in York who, due to continued growth, are looking to recruit an IT Security Lead to oversee their cyber security function and services. In a brand role created following the successful implementation of cyber security products and services, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IT professional with a real appetite for all things security.

The role will include:

• Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure and Security, acting as the primary point of contact for all information security issues across the business.
• Maintaining and overseeing Cyber Security Certifications and Compliance.
• Liaising and communicating with all teams (Product Management / Infrastructure / Sales and Account Management / Software Development) in the business aiding and guiding in all aspects of information security and industry best practices.
• Leading on penetration testing, vulnerability testing and risk analysis as well as being the go to for IT Security training and business awareness.
• Producing regular reports in relation to information security.
• Supporting on major incidents.
• Working with vendors and engaging with external Security Consultants to ensure secure networks and infrastructure.

Suitable candidates should demonstrate some of the following:

• Experience in a relevant information security management or consultant role
• Strong understanding of Cloud Technologies (Microsoft Azure)
• Strong understanding of Cyber products – e.g. Mimecast, Sophos, AlienVault
• Working towards or the holder of relevant IT Security qualifications (CISSP, CISM)
• Proven track record in producing, communicating, and documenting Information Security state
• Experience liaising and communicating with vendors and external parties in relation to security services.
