Food Technologist – to £42,000 pa – London

The Company

A small but expanding company that manufacture flour based products. They have created a new position for a Food Technologist to join the business and be responsible for Product Development.

The Role

The individual appointed will report directly to the MD and will be responsible for the development of new and existing products. There will be a requirement to manage recipe specifications, technical documents and factory trial information. The Food Technologist will ensure existing products requiring development are changed in line with customer requirements, and any amendments are communicated to the production team and introduced to the production process successfully.

As the business is small, this job offers a broad range of responsibilities and there will be a further requirement for the Food Technologist to keep up-to-date with new legislation and ensure the site is kept compliant with regard to statutory requirements such as packaging and labelling regulations. They will also manage HACCP activities and ensure factory processes are consistent. There will also be some involvement with shelf-life analysis, BRC and micro testing.

The Person

We are seeking an individual with NPD experience gained from within a Bakery environment, or other food manufacturer where Flour was the main ingredient in the product.

This role offers great scope to get involved with virtually all aspects of the business, although the focus is on Product Development. Ref 1774

The Salary offered is up to £42,000pa (Monday to Friday).

The role is commutable from: London, Essex, East London, Dagenham, Dartford, Beckton, Stratford, Barking, Ilford, Hackney, Romford, Hornchurch, Woodford, Wanstead.
