Procurement Manager

My client a leading energy provider in the UK currently has an urgent requirement for a Procurement Manager. The Contracts & Procurement Manager will perform purchasing activities for third party works, goods and services in a cost effective, ethical and controlled manner, primarily for a new site and will commercially manage assigned contracts to completion during the execution phase to maximise operational and financial performance and minimise commercial risk in order to help support the safe and cost effective delivery of the project and business objectives.

The Contracts & Procurement Manager must possess:

Ability to cope with ever changing workload and priorities and to work under pressure
Core experience in Procurement, not sector specific
An excellent track record in the procurement process for sourcing, tendering, award and management of medium to large value contracts for engineering/consultancy related services and construction works
Good knowledge of industry standard terms and conditions and construction good practicesRequired Experience:

Qualified professional (CIP RICS) or demonstrably in progress to achieve qualification
Considerable experience in procurement and commercial management
Significant technical competence and experience of working within a procurement or contract management to deliver complex activities within define process and procedure.
High level of commercial acumen, being able to understand complex commercial issues, and drive complex commercial negotiations to conclusion
Excellent negotiating and influencing skills
Good understanding of contract performance measurement, risk, change and claim management
