Area Engineering Manager

Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year

We are looking for a Multi-Site Engineering Manager based in the South West (Plymouth – Midlands).

The Role is to grow and develop a team across the southwest and all engineering & maintenance activities for the plant & equipment across multiple locations.

Build and improve the health & safety across the area, develop a skills matrix to ensure everyone has what they need to excel in their role. Working with good housekeeping and 5S.

Equipment availability 95%+, analyse and plan for any maintenance cost savings, create a management process and develop an annual capital replacement plan.

Develop scheduling and manage the major overhaul to all fixed plant, create a system for spare parts control.

Manage the outside contractors and ensure the services are being reviewed to ensure a high standard of service

The Person

Ideally, degree qualified in mechanical or electrical engineering, with a NEBOSH or IOSH, and experience managing a team, showing examples that the team has improved and developed. Also, financial capability to manage budgets and operating costs. An understanding of the life cycle of equipment and planning replacements. Experience in the specification, purchase and maintenance of plant and equipment. Ability to source and manage third party contractors. Be a problem solver and have experience with MS Office.

Whilst the position is multi-site, there will be some travelling and overnight stays as part of the role. However, the role is autonomous, and you will be required to manage your own time in line with business needs.
