Location: Hampshire – hybrid roles: Senior

On Task Recruitment is working with a major client who is looking to fill two critical roles. For the positions, we offer a role for either a graduate or a proven senior industry expert developer. Both roles demand that all candidates are talented and smart individuals who will enjoy working within a team where there is a view to enjoy your work and do so under the basis of mutual learning and respect. Your main driver will be a desire to work within cutting edge technology, and a strong awareness, with functional skills, across both programming and software development. Ideally you will not want to work code every day and with us you will be encouraged to be a part of the whole development lifecycle. As such you will make a contribution to many projects you support on a wide range of levels.

Ideal candidates will hold excellent understanding of database design techniques and SQL statements. As a graduate you will show the basic skills and demonstrate that you can learn new tools/systems as you may lack industry experience now, our client will invest in you if you show the core mind set and talent we seek. For the senior role its vital you have proven experience in web based user interface creation (HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, ASP.NET) with a sound working knowledge of C#.

Your role in the project development cycle?
With the development underway on a new Portal designed to give an even better experience to our customers, the team are working on a.Net frontend and associated backend Microsoft SQL databases. The team need to consider everything from security to performance through to usability and accessibility. We need be aware of our obligations to incorporate specific industry regulations and take advantage of the latest technology available. Primarily the role will be diverse and you will be expected to think on your feet; whether this is supporting existing applications or making changes to take forward a new solution to meet changing business needs.

Skills you learn?
Based upon your enthusiasm, you can show the company your desire to develop your skills. The company technology development department use Microsoft SQL databases with.Net front ends. Previous experience of both these, particularly.Net programming is essential.

Key skills required

• Prepared to contribute to overall project development.
• Problem solving, taking ownership of tasks and grasping the bigger picture.
• A good communicator with the ability to turn customer requirements into a functional specification and subsequently into a fully workable solution.
• Creative flair with great attention to detail.
• Strong A-Level results and a technical based degree preferably a 1st or 2.1.
• Strong front-end development skills using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (including JQuery)
• Able to code in: C# ASP.NET (Web Forms)
• Experience using version control, preferably GIT
• Strong on databases and SQL, ideally T-SQL
• Experience of Photoshop, AJAX and ASP.NET MVC would be desirable.
• At least one year experience in a software based role. Consideration will be given to graduates that can demonstrate that they have the aptitude to learn but may lack the industry experience or some of the skills listed above.

Remuneration – Senior role
Senior Role £30k – £35k (depending on experience)
