Our Client based in Farnborough are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader for their Machine Shop and Tooling department, on a permanent basis, our client have 4 Manufacturing plants worldwide along with R&D and repair capabilities. Their world renowned expertise, place them at the forefront of suppliers. They have approximately 180 employees in their UK facility which is heavily focused on Design and manufacture.
Job Description
To lead a team of Quality personnel to carry out the Key Responsibilities listed below.
To ensure that company, customer and regulatory requirements are met. To improve the quality of product & to investigate product returns from service.
Departments responsible for:
Manufacturing Quality Engineering, NPI Quality Engineering
Leadership
* Undertake line-management responsibilities for the Quality Engineering Team
* Manage Quality Engineering Team priorities in conjunction with Manufacturing Group Leaders and Programme Managers
* Report on major issues and key performance indicators
Functional
* Investigate root cause of product manufacturing failures ensuring effective containment and permanent corrective actions and facilitate the problem owner or team using 8D, DMAIC or other quality tools
* Conduct MRB on nonconforming items and act as arbiter on quality queries
* Manage and conduct product and process audits
* Facilitate manufacturing improvements identified from audits or other reviews; ensuring that effective root cause analysis and corrective actions are carried out
* Coordinate manufacturing concessions/production permits
* Compile and review FAIRs
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
Essential
* Engineering Degree or equivalent
* Previous proven Experience in Quality Engineering
* Mechanical / Electronic knowledge
* Leadership skills
* Communication skills (oral and written)
Desirable
* Member of Professional Body
* Understanding of AS9100
* Understanding of Part 21 Subpart G
* Compilation/review of FAIRs to AS9102
* Internal Audit Training
* 8D practitioner level
* DMAIC practitioner level
* Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) intermediate level
* Understanding of PPAP
* Continuous Improvement foundation level
