Clinical Trial Coordinator / Research Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse, Allied Healthcare professional, or a graduate with experience in clinical research to work with the Medicines Research Team (Medicine CAG).

The post holder will:

· Work 3 days with the stroke team and 2 days with the POPS team.

· You will be responsible for recruiting to and coordinating Stroke Research Network adopted studies including the recruitment and follow up of trial subjects.

Other responsibilities includes

assisting with trial set up
Identify patients through MDT’s/screening notes
Discuss trials and informed consent process with eligible patients
Collect and enter data as well as and coordinate the research patient pathway.
To work according to ICH, GCP and research governance standards for clinical trials
Training and mentoring other members of staff and contributing to service development

Administration

To maintain accurate documentation in clinical trial documents and patient notes.
To be responsible for the medical notes tracking and finding for recruited patients
To participate in the data entry and data basing of relevant stroke/POPS trial information
Adhering to protocols and Standard Operating Procedures as required

Work hours

The post holder will be part of the clinical research team working between 09.00-17.00 hrs although some flexibility is required.
