Lead Scientist

Salary: £84,000 – £108,000 per year

An exciting opportunity for an experienced mass spectrometry Scientist to join a method development group as a Lead Scientist.

The laboratory provides studies on small molecules for their clients on a range of instruments including HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS & GC-FID in GMP and GLP environments.

Acting as a subject matter expert, you will design and support method development and validation activities, explore new technologies and support scientific marketing activities. The role will involve mentoring, developing and coaching Analysts and Project Scientists with an option to move into people management for the right candidate.

You will take on project management responsibilities, provide scientific consultancy to support commercial sales activities and present/liaise with clients.

To be considered for this role you will have a degree, ideally a PhD, in Chemistry (or related) & a minimum of 5 years’ experience in small molecule method development using mass spectrometry and LC or GC. You will also have proven experience in technical writing, communications and project management.
