Accountant – Inventory & Pp&e Leader

Salary: £60,000 per year

Accountant- Inventory & PP&E Leader required for our manufacturing client based in Wolverhampton

We are looking for an experienced Accountant- Inventory & Property, plant, and equipment Leader This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining one set of standard plant accounting policies and procedures across the globe. The position will also be responsible for designing and implementing meaningful reporting and KPIs to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, this position will oversee centralised control activities related to the existence, accuracy, valuation and completeness of inventory and fixed assets.

Duties

* Develop the plant accounting shared service finance functions, by understanding the current processes and determining how to appropriately centralise functions where needed

* Develop metrics for tracking KPIs

* Define across all sites proper accounting of inventory transactions to ensure the ERP system is being used effectively

* Drive the development and implementation of consistent global inventory accounting and policies, ensure adherence to policy, and review annually for necessary updates

* Provide subject matter expertise surrounding manufacturing and inventory reporting requirements and drive consistency in reporting & system usage across sites

* Drive consistent classification of plant expenditures across all global sites in accordance with the global chart of accounts

* Provide support to all site finance controllers and country finance controllers

Oversee accounting task such as:

* Matching of approved invoices, receipts and purchase orders to prepare for vouchering

* Preparation of accruals

* Maintenance of monthly detail of inventory in-transit

* Preparation of monthly analysis of purchase price variances for Key and Non-key raw material to be used in analyzing raw material costs

* Cost Accounting functions

* PP&E accounting

* Product costing

People Leadership

* Provide leadership for the Shared Services department, by managing employee performance, attracting, retaining and developing employees.

Internal Controls

* Ensure compliance with all policies as it relates to inventory and capital assets.

* Develop policies as needed, to support new processes as technology or other aspects within a changing landscape.

Education and Experience required:

* Undergraduate degree in accounting or other financial discipline;

* 5+ years of professional and progressively larger responsibility in a multinational corporation

* Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting

* Strong knowledge of SAP in a manufacturing environment

* Strong analytical and presentation skills

* Supervisory experience

* Knowledge of financial reporting and financial analyses

* Thrives on the challenge to create order where structure is lacking or processes are broken or do not exist.

* Previous accounting experience within either manufacturing or engineering sectors

Working Hours: 37 hours Monday to Friday

Salary Guide: c40k to £60,000depending on experience – Excellent employee benefits package available
