Head of Transport – Significant UK Travel

As part of its continued development, our client, a rapidly growing, highly profitable UK business, is now looking to appoint an experienced transport and distribution professional with a proven track record in managing and implementing best practice and transport efficiency across multisite operations.

As Head of Transport you will be responsible for a national transport operation supported by a number of sites/outbases across the UK. In addition to this you will be responsible for the management of a distribution centre (in-house warehouse and transport operation) in the North West.

Candidate Profile:

• Experience gained in an in-house or 3pl FMCG transport operation, where customer service, compliance and cost control are equally balanced to deliver outstanding performance.
• Ideally some warehouse management experience/exposure.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – Outstanding leadership and relationship building skills.
• Ambitious and dynamic individual, able to cope with a business experiencing aggressive growth and able to influence change.
• Mobile – able to travel regularly to other sites across the UK.
• Certificate of Professional Competence.
