Transport Planner

Salary: £26,000 per year

OnPoint Executive Recruitment are seeking a Transport Planner to work for a well-established independent Scottish general haulage, warehousing, distribution and logistics organisation.

Days – Monday to Friday

The successful applicant will already have a Transport Planner background and can in return expect a progressive career with excellent rewards.

Responsibilities:

Route planning and scheduling with vehicle sizes and weights

To ensure that all vehicles are back loaded and where possible ensuring maximum profitability

Keeping up to date with transport issues and dealing with changes to schedules such as breakdowns

Monitor delivery performance and ensure in line with company KPIs

Ensuring fleet is generating profit through good planning

Liaise with hauliers, drivers and colleagues to ensure on time deliveries

Ability to change traffic planning schedules to accommodate additional business

Skills required:

Previous experience of route planning in general haulage or similar environment

Experience with multi-drop

Computer literate with strong MS Office

Ability to keep up with a changing load plan and make quick decisions when changes are needed

Works well under pressure and on own initiative

Ability to challenge and question for improvement existing processes

Flexible approach to working hours

Strong communicator and people skills
