£36,000 – £40,000 Production Manager opportunity with an expanding manufacturing / mechanical engineering company in Salisbury. Responsibilities:

• Application of lean and continuous improvement strategies to increase capacity and improve margins.
• Make improvements to stock control, production planning and MRP systems. There is an excellent opportunity to save the business money and make an impact with the implementation of a more robust stock control system
• Management of a small team of manufacturing / production technicians (6 to 7 direct reports).
• Managing a sub-contract and supplier network to meet quality and on-time delivery targets, including specialist machining, fabrication and material finishing activities.
• Planning & scheduling manufacture, assembly & test to meet company sales targets.
• Look at longer term forecasting to help the business plan and cope with increased demands

Experience and Skills:

• A Production Manager who has an enquiring mind, motivated to improve processes and help drive a medium sized business forward.
• This role will suit a pragmatic Production Manager who is accustomed to working in small to medium sized organisations
• Ideally you will have some exposure to implementing lean, 5s, continuous improvement projects in manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Ideally strong mechanical engineering background with an understanding of precision engineering, stainless steel (and similar materials), fabrication and finishing.
• You will be an experienced Production Manager or Manufacturing Manager or alternatively be a Production Supervisor or Production Team Leader looking to make a step up into production management.
• You must be a strong and persuasive manager who can get ‘buy in’ from a small well established team
