Our client is a leading manufacturer of high quality packaging solutions supplying into numerous industries. They currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to achieve and maintain the best possible performance whilst working closely with the quality, sales, purchasing and engineering departments. Working for this established and reputable company, the successful candidate will be operating in a word class environment where the Production function is of upmost importance.

Role Description
*Overseeing the production process, drawing up a production schedule
*Managing a total of 12 members of staff across 6 production lines
*Monitoring Waste
*Look at process/line improvements to increase efficiency
*Making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality
*Planning production – Estimating costs and setting the quality standards
*Liaising among different departments, e.g. suppliers, managers
*Purchase consumable items – negotiation techniques
*Working with the operations manager to implement the company’s policies and goals
*Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed
*Supervising and motivating a team of workers
*Reviewing worker performance
*Deal with any employment personnel issues
*Identifying training needs

Skills and Qualifications
*Production experience within manufacturing
*Customer focused
*Used to supervising members of staff on a production line
*A team based approach to problem solving
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
*Pragmatic
*Excellent MS office skills, particularly Excel
*Good understanding of current employment law
