Warehouse Apprentice

Pilot IMS are a National Training Provider who are currently recruiting 18 Warehouse Apprentices to join a growing warehouse team at a 550,000 sq ft warehouse based in Stafford, ST16 postcode area.

No previous Warehouse experience is necessary, as full training and support is provided by this employer and the expert Apprenticeship Training provision through Pilot IMS.

This is a Warehouse Apprenticeship job opportunity so the successful candidates will be working towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship qualification in Warehousing and Storage.

The Role

Duties will include;

– Reporting to Warehouse First Line Managers
– Ensure that the operation meets the customer service requirements by completing each function at the highest standard
– Carry out a variety of warehouse activities such as picking, dispatch and loading duties
– Carry out duties accurately, above the required minimum productivity rate
– Carry out general housekeeping and maintenance duties, to ensure that the profile of the site is maintained to the very highest standard
– Be responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and other operatives by adhering to safe working practices
– Attend training courses when required

The Company

The company is a National organisation who operates a 550,000 sq ft warehouse based in Stafford. They have successfully expanded and employed more than 150 permanent staff members over the last 2 years.

This national company are looking to employ 18 Apprentice learners for this period. However they also plan to continue growing and expanding the business and have a long term, on-going recruitment campaign planned for the near future.

They are looking for operatives in all aspects of warehouse work, to work in a variety of positions.

Training

Apprenticeship training will be provided in the work place by Pilot IMS Training. You will also receive regular on the job training and support from the employer.

Apprenticeship training for the Warehousing and Storage Apprenticeship will include:

– Warehouse & Storage Level 2 NVQ
– Employment rights and responsibilities award in Logistics Level 2
– Functional skills Maths & English Level 1

The expected duration for the Apprenticeship training is 12 months.

Personal qualities

– You should be punctual, committed and be flexible with regards to working hours, as the operation will run morning and afternoon shift patterns.
– The ability to work on your own initiative, via procedure.
– You should have a positive attitude to work.

(WEEK 1) MON- FRI 6AM – 2PM
(WEEK 2) MON- FRI 2pm – 10pm
(WEEK 3) MON- FRI 6AM – 2PM
(WEEK 4) MON- FRI 2pm – 10pm
Rotating Shift Pattern

Salary: £26,000per year

Type: 12 month Apprenticeship training. The employer may offer a permanent role on successful completion of the Apprenticeship.

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £26,000 per year. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
