Quality Analyst – Microbiology

Severn Trent Water needs positive, professional people with laboratory experience in Microbiology (food /environmental) to ensure the water is compliant and to the best quality we can supply.

About the role

You will ensure compliance within the regulatory obligation to monitor drinking water quality and to react to quality failures, incidents and events in accordance with the requirements of UKAS acreditation.

For an ambitious candidate, it provides a great platform for learning about Water Quality and how Severn Trent Water manages to continuously provide water to it’s customers that is Good to Drink and Always on. Should the successful candidate show enthusiasm for the subject, commitment to the job and their team and apply themselves to the role, there is the potential for career progression within Severn Trent Water. This role includes participation in a standby rota on a one week in six rotation. The working pattern will be Sunday through to Thursday.

About you

Attention to detail and strong analytical skills is key for this role. You will have experience of working in a Microbiology / Food / Environment laboratory. Knowledge of experience of modern microbiological techniques is required. You must be able to keep accurate records with a customer focussed attitude.

A minimum qualification in microbiology or biological subject at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent will be required. A valid UK driving license is also essential. We welcome candidates with a Biological degree, however it is not essential.
