£60,000 – £72,000 – Pension, Private Medical Cover, Car Allowance/Business Mileage, 26 Days Annual Leave

Our client specialises in regeneration, construction and refurbishment within the Public Sector and to other commercial clients. They are a top tier social housing contractor working to the Decent Homes Standard, improving and modernising major housing stock around London and further a field. Along side these core activities they are leaders in Partnering, Design and Construction and M&E Services Installations. They have numerous prestigious awards to their name and their ethos is about respect and building better homes for the future. They have an excellent track record of success and enjoy considerable repeat business with many of their clients.

They are now actively seeking to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their Small Works, Cyclical Decorations / Planned Maintenance team. Reporting into the Divisional Director duties and responsibilities include:-

To provide the most realistic net price for the bid
Read all tender documents and check that they are suitable for tendering purposes
Undertake site visits in preparation of tenders
Formulate strategies for pricing with your Line Manager/Directors
Liaise with the Consultants/Clients as appropriate in tender preparation period
Prepare building quantities as required in accordance with standard methods of measurement
Price all works in line with current market conditions
Ensure all subcontractor packages are set out in good time
Obtain competitive subcontractor and supplier quotations
Analyse all subcontractor returns/quotations
Develop programmes and method statements
Prepare tender settlement sheet and attend tender settlement meetings
Ensure all tenders comply with estimating procedure guidance notes

You will:-
• Have relevant experience Small Works, Cyclical Decoration and Planned Maintenance works with values from £10k to £2m
• Ideally, a recognised Building Surveying qualification
• Able to estimate from first principles
• Commercial acumen
• Stable work history
