Are you an experienced Business Manager with strong commercial and operational skills?
FM Conway are currently seeking to employ two Business Managers to oversee our 7 Asphalt Plants. Both positions are full time and permanent, they offer a competitive salary and wide range of benefits. The role will involve travel around your designated Asphalt Plants which are all based within the South of England. Our East region includes Newhaven, Erith and Croydon, whilst our West region includes Theale, Reading, Aldershot and Hayes.

The Business Manager Role
As our Business Manager you will oversee the operations and continuous improvement of multiple asphalt plants. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the role will require an individual with excellent people management, commercial and operational skills, who can deliver the required business outcomes of profitability, efficiency and health and safety.
Responsibilities of our Business Manager
– Leading and empowering Plant Managers to ensure operational delivery is safe, efficient, reliable and profitable
– Ensuring that all operational processes are adhered to and improved where necessary
– Reviewing and acting upon results from balanced scorecards and KPI’s across all operational areas, working in conjunction with the Finance Business Partner, Commercial team and other stakeholders
– Working with Plant Managers to create and deliver detailed business improvement plans that will deliver tangible outcomes for each site and the A&A division
– Reviewing and utilising data to make decisions and build business cases which will result in actionable outcomes

What we’re looking for in our Business Manager
We are looking for leaders who can dynamically inspire people whilst advocating a collaborative working style. You will have previous experience in a similar role either from an Asphalt, Engineering or Production background. You must hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel to our various sites. It is important that you have a strong commercial focus, a forward-thinking attitude and you can thrive in a fast paced and varied environment. Our ideal candidate will be inspiring, engaging and able to act as a role model to foster an environment for continuous learning and improvement.
