CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER

A leading light within the world of Logistics/Warehousing/Distribution are seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to lead the development of CI strategy following Lean Six Sigma principles to their Operations in the UK. This role offers the opportunity to get behind the green field roll out of a full CI programme into a technologically advanced, Fully Automated, distribution environment.
The role will involve:
• Design and Development of the Lean Six Sigma strategy across a large distribution centre
• Ensuring that a broad cultural change is enacted within the business
• Leading and deploying Lean Six Sigma and CI initiatives across all business functions from the shop floor to the back office
• Delivering hands on training in CI tools to all members of staff
• Using the full Lean Six Sigma toolkit to identify issues and eliminate waste, implement Standard Operating Procedures and deliver bottom line cost savings
• Work with the Senior Management Team on a CI strategy to be implemented across the entire business

The ideal candidate will possess:
• Relevant certification in Lean Six Sigma (preferably to a Black Belt level)
• A proven track record of delivering CI initiatives as well as making cost reductions and process improvements
• Strong leadership credentials with demonstrable experience at effecting cultural change within large organisations
• Experience of working in an automated Distribution Centre environment and a knowledge of the challenges faced within the Logistics sector
• Extensive knowledge of the Lean Six Sigma toolkit including, Kaizen, Kanban, 5s, DMAIC, TPM etc
• Strong educational background (degree preferable)
