Working for this global engineering products and services company, in Leicester. You will work within their “Exceed” department which is their continuous improvement department/operational excellence department, responsible for transforming the way the company manages continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become a central part of the growth strategy with a focus on operational excellence. The successful candidate has the ability to assist in implementing and setting the standard yo0u will establish yourself as a vital part of the Operations team.
Working alongside a team of around 5 people, you will look to continuously improvement specific areas of the business including Engineering Workshops, head office, distribution centres, contract customer accounts, technology, looking at financial data and staffing data. Your duties will involve: –
- Making sure operations are gold standard and measured to high standards.
- Help to define 5 specific goals for the role directly contributing to the impact of the Mission Statement over the next few years
- Act as an ambassador to promote the company’s values of passion, specialism and innovation and communicate in a compelling way to all internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of the strategic plan
- Support the delivery of exceptional customer service and set and maintain high operational standards across all on-site operations
- Learn, understand, and analyse processes to deliver continually improving customer services
- Analyse processes, current performance and propose possible improvements substantiated with facts and figures
- Implement the “Excellence toolkit” and drive the quarterly x-matrix planning process
- Promote a culture of continual and never-ending improvement within the whole organisation
- Implement 5 lean management processes
- Making improvements and recommendations and how they can be better in their journey
- Being part of review meetings to review processes to look at processes in the beginning and current performance
- Working from the company’s reporting system called NSP reporting system, you will analyse processes, current performances, and propose improvements substantiated with facts and figures
- Coming up with ideas to make improvements from cradle to grave, implementing the processes from start to finish, look at financial data, staffing data and other processes and how they do them as a business and align with business strategy which is data led
- Implement lean tools
To apply you must have: –
- In-depth knowledge of implementing Lean management tools (e.g., Kaizen, 5s, x-matrix)
- Experience of working for an MRO/engineering services or industrial distribution business (ideal)
- Relevant degree or 6/sigma black belt qualification
- Ideally around 3 years of continuous improvement experience
- Strong analytical capabilities with an entrepreneurial mindset (i.e., not making things too complex)
- Experience of implementing continuous improvement processes across a business
