Maintenance Technician – Mechanical

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to provide the assistance in the development of the company’s reliability-based maintenance strategy in working independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks on machine tools including Country Lathes.

Principle Accountabilities,

• Troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of the mechanical systems in a timely and logical manner.
• Assist other maintenance personnel with equipment repairs and research.
• Assist in the development of critically centred preventative and proactive maintenance regimes.
• To maintain equipment information and service files, including the involvement in spare parts management, data entry and procurement.
• Liaise with and assist in the managing of third-party contractors including issuance of Permit to Works.
• Liaise and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Installation of new and decommissioning of redundant machines
• Working safely throughout all activities in line with company’s safety standards and procedures.

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience,

• in an engineering discipline.
• Experience of maintaining machinery and equipment (vertical borers, lathes etc).
• Experience of foundry equipment and rotating equipment is desirable.
• Flexible attitude towards selection of tasks.
• The ability to read engineering drawings.
• Willingness to cross train with colleagues.
• Experience of working in a proactive maintenance department.
• Experience of working in a machining facility.
• Hold a recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
• Good H&S and environmental awareness.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Competent working with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).

06:00 to 14:00 – Monday to Thursday

06:00 to 13:00 – Friday

Late

12:00 to 22:00 – Monday to Thursday
