Salary: £33,600 – £40,800 per year

We are currently looking for a API Development Scientist to join a leading Pharmaceutical company based in the Oxfordshire area. This is a new vacancy that has arisen as a result of ongoing growth within the business.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the API Development Scientist you will be involved on a broad range of duties which will include the following. More information on the broader duties is available on request however to introduce the role please see below:

1. Take a lead role within the API Development group of a major Pharmaceutical company to contribute to the synthesis of new Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients for a range of clients.

2. Perform important process development work and subsequently assist in transferring these processes to the pilot plant.

3. Carry out supervisory duties to ensure that all work is performed to the necessary quality standards and results are recorded accurately.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this opportunity of API Development Chemist we must identify the following on your application. Unfortunately due to business demands this is not a trainee position so applications without such experience will not be considered:

1. You will be at least degree qualified, preferably to PhD level in Chemistry or a related discipline e.g. Organic Chemistry, Synthetic Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

2. It is essential that you have industrial experience working as an Organic Chemist in a Pharmaceutical company, ideally working with API Synthesis under GMP.

3. You will also have proven experience with various analytical chemistry techniques including HPLC, LC-MS or NMR.
