System Support Engineer (Electronic Hardware & Software Systems)
Would you like an opportunity to work with a leading global technology solutions specialist? My client has recently been awarded an Engineering programme worth over £600M to add to its order book! This is the perfect time and opportunity to take on this role, with many new and exciting projects coming up over the foreseeable future.
We are looking for a System Support Engineer that has demonstrable experience in supporting a high technology integrated system, incorporating hardware, software, communications, Electronics and remotely operated networked devices. You will be tasked with assisting with the resolution of technical issues escalated from Field Operations or Customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Investigate reoccurring Hardware and Software device failures and diagnose root cause. Redesign to rectify where possible and plan rollout of fix to field engineering teams.
• Responsible for managing and reporting complex Hardware and Software faults, handing over to Technical Support Manager once agreed for rollout.
• Planning, implementing and reviewing long term technical improvements
• Dealing with escalated technical issues and ensuring correct processes are followed through to resolution
• Monitoring and coaching Helpdesk and Task Management Centre in resolving technical issues
• Designing, implementing and reviewing the modular training programme for customer services in conjunction with the service support manager
• Assisting with product or system design reviews
ESSENTIAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The successful applicant will possess an HND or equivalent in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, strong previous experience in a field maintenance position supporting electronic/electro-mechanical systems, basic programming language experience (C++, Visual Basic), Basic Query language experience (SQL), good Windows OS knowledge and basic networking knowledge/experience (TCP/IP).
The ideal candidate will need to have exceptional communication and organisational skills with the ability to lead on technical matters with the potential for advancement.
THE SALARY: Up to £48,000+ Excellent Benefits Package
