Salary: £360 – £420 per day
My client is looking for a Project Technical Officer / Project Engineer to join their expanding team within the Rail Engineering sector. The main focus of the role is Hydraulic Design for Track Drainage so we are particularly looking for someone that has previous experience in this field. Unfortunately, we do not want to train someone to this level so it is important that you are confident in your own ability to fulfill the role from day one.
Job Responsibilites/Roles
* Experienced in track & drainage renewals techniques, planning & delivery (includes train planning)
* Able to undertake site surveys for track using Total station
* Able to undertake site surveys for track drainage using Dumpy level & prepare design drawings for approval
* To have experience and applied Hydraulic design for track drainage
* Contribute to the successful achievement of contract deliverables
* Prepare planning documents for allocated work bank (drainage)
* Undertake setting out prior to construction
* Produce Technical records as required for acceptance. Produce Health & Safety files
* Provide Technical support to Special Projects
* Liaise with Lead Engineer/Works Delivery Manager/Project Engineers/Construction Manager/ Supervisors to determine the correct methods of work
* Produce WPP(s)
* Create and maintain Technical records
* Provide adequate site control for drainage installation to ensure design and specification are achieved. Recording As Built data, ensuring corrective actions raised with the key staff (as above)
* Identification, elimination or Mitigation of risks associated with the delivery of drainage (including Buried services/Environmental issues)
* Alert key staff (as above) to any non-compliance or deficiency in quality, materials, services or workmanship
It is important that you can comply with the above points but it is essential that you comply with the points in bold.
Ideally, we would like to get someone in as soon as possible but the team is willing to wait for the right person. Again, experience within Hydraulic Design of Drainage on Track within Rail is essential.
Pay rate of £360 – £420per day dependant on experience.
Contract length of 4 years.
Based in Doncaster.
