Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year

My client, an industry leading main contractor operating within the UK construction market, currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced, Equality, Inclusion and Community Manager to join their reputable midlands based team.

Based out of my client’s head office, your objective will be to develop and manage a strategic approach to inclusion and community engagement for the region. You will provide specialist knowledge and direction, ensuring the alignment between the company’s values, customer requirements and delivery.

Whilst you will be based from the regional office in Rugby, this role will largely entail being out within local communities, offering an exciting chance to meet new people and an interesting, challenging and varied workload.

My client are seeking a determined and proactive individual with experience of working with local councils either directly or whilst working for a main contractor.

Role Responsibilities:

Leading and developing a strategy around inclusion and diversity, to influence the way that the business operates both internally and externally.
Working closely with the Business Development, HR, Sustainability and Training departments of the company to ensure consistency in approach across the company.
Liaising and ensuring that the company has appropriate contacts within external bodies such as BITC, Local Government Agencies, and other inclusion-based organisations.
Advising the business and developing strategies to respond to the expectations of customers and potential customers.
Working to ensure that teams are informed and understand the key elements of legislation requirements and working with them to develop practical way to implement policies and programmes.
Working effectively with business units to develop appropriate strategies and plans for inclusion and community engagement to support work winning and the delivery of successful projects.
Agreeing community engagement plans as well as agreed targets with individual business units and larger project teams.
Supporting with the effective engagement of customers and potential customers by identifying needs with respect to community and regeneration aims.
Supporting project teams in the delivery of customer requirements agreed at tender stage.The successful candidate will hold the following attributes:

Experience in managing multiple projects at any one time.
Experience in liaising with government agencies and customers.
The ability to work within a team environment and to contribute across business units or areas.
Excellent management skills, as well as an ability to motivate colleagues to achieve high standards of compliance.
Previous experience as a Equality, Inclusion and Community Manager with another main contractor would be beneficial, or within a local council environment.For the successful candidate, my client are able to offer a competitive package, you will also benefit from working with one of the UK’s leading main contractors.
