My client is a national social housing company looking for an experienced Community Investment Manager to fill a permanent role in their Gateshead offices.
Overall Job Purpose:
Lead and support the successful development and delivery of employment, training and regeneration initiatives to produce social and economic benefits to the residents of communities that the company works within.
Accountable for: Training, Employment and Skills Programmes in connection with business activity.
Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to the development and implementation of the company’s Training and Employment/Community Regeneration Strategy to inform future direction in these areas.
Supporting procurement and winning work activities.
Build and maintain effective and productive working relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside the company to explore and develop opportunities to address deprivation, unemployment and regeneration in the neighbourhoods we work within through the creative use of partnership working; different funding streams and relevant community projects.
Support the Business Development Team in establishing a strong understanding of training and employment/regeneration local priorities in order to inform the bid writing process.
Develop and implement a range of activities that produce work and training opportunities; including apprenticeships, internships, work experience and other on site and office based initiatives.
Work closely with schools, colleges and other educational establishments in the region to maximise and streamline opportunities to support people from the communities we work within into work or training.
Work closely with other agencies including local authorities; Registered Providers; statutory bodies and the voluntary and community sector to provide a range of support services and facilities to assist residents on their journey towards employment.
Explore, develop and implement opportunities to support residents to maximise their life chances. This will include facilitating initiatives with other partners e.g. Money Management Skills and ICT skills.
Progress opportunities with our supply chain partners to support people into work or training.10.Explore, develop and facilitate opportunities relating to the delivery of successful social enterprise projects which could generate surpluses for the benefit of communities we work within.
11.Prepare and lead bids to access different funding streams including progressing applications to a variety of sources including statutory agencies, lottery, charitable trusts.
12.Provide clear and timely strategic and operational performance information to relevant internal and external contacts and be responsible for ensuring the monitoring of and compliance with all targets relating to employment and training activities/community regeneration activities.

Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent through relevant training/experienceExperience & Skills
Strong understanding and experience of successfully developing and implementing activities to produce opportunities for employment and training/community regeneration.
Experience of developing highly effective partnerships with other agencies and organisations to maximise joint working opportunities.
Experience of developing and implementing projects for creating employment and training/regeneration opportunities.
Experience of developing and implementing strategic and operational monitoring and evaluation frameworks relating to training and employment and regeneration projects.
Ability to prepare bid applications for a variety of different funding streams relating to social regeneration.
Experience of presenting information verbally for a variety of purposes and audiences.
A team player who can support and promote corporate objectives.
Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to engage people at all levels.
Ability to produce clear, accurate reports and bid applications for a variety of audiences.
Demonstrable ability to successfully manage a range of projects from start to completion.
Ability to respond creatively and flexibly to opportunities to develop and implement initiatives relating to training and employment.
IT literate with a sound grasp of social media.
Ability to effectively manage all budgetary requirements, including delivery of value for the business.
