This reputable employer has an opening for a CCTV Operator to join their team in Cheltenham on a Temporary basis lasting up to 6 months. Based within the Cheltenham Local Policing Area Department, you will report directly to the LPA Sergeant/CCTV Supervisor.

Please note that the successful candidate offered the position will be required to undergo an eye examination, conducted either by the Occupational Health team in-house, or by production of a recent ophthalmologists assessment (including a colour vision report). Your specific responsibilities will include:
– Accurately and promptly monitor, record and report all incidents evidenced from CCTV
– Directing officers via radio to incidents
– Identifying and reporting any suspicious activity in line with agreed procedures
– Forming good working relationships with departmental staff, police staff and volunteers at all levels, town centre shops and members of the public
– Accurately, methodically and securely maintaining all records and recorded images observing Constabulary policies and procedures
– Preparation and writing of statements, attending court to provide evidence where necessary
– Effectively maintaining internal systems, CCTV logs and any necessary administration
– Adhering to the following legislation: Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Data Protection, Equal Opportunities, Freedom of Information, Race Relations and European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR)

With a strong ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills, you will fit the following criteria:
– Strong Communication both written and spoken, via telephone and radio systems
– Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
– Accuracy and ability to work to tight deadlines
– Good task prioritisation and quick response rate
– Basic Computer skills is essential
– High degree of dexterity to operate CCTV controls as incidents occur

This role is a Full Time position based on 37 hours per week within varying a shift patterns, lasting for up to 6 months. We have these shift patterns available, please contact us to request them.
