Salary: £48,000 per year

We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our client’s growing energy consultancy. This role will see you managing a portfolio of B2B customers. You will be required to gain / retain & renew customers within your portfolio, as well as up-sell and cross-sell other products, services, and solutions where possible. This is a hybrid working role, based in Tamworth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • The role of an Account Manager is a senior sales position
  • The role is responsible for winning new business, whilst providing account management of Industrial and Commercial (I&C) accounts in the UK Commodity marketplace
  • The role requires a close working relationship with customers across both SME and I&C sectors, as well as integral development of partner relationships
  • The Account Manager position is of strategic importance and the role requires experienced individuals who can demonstrate the very best in sales excellence for their customers
  • Manage & implement the sale of new business as well as retention & renewals for B2B customers
  • Convert incoming lead opportunities
  • Deliver key KPI’s of sales and quality targets
  • Prioritising incoming workloads
  • Ensuring data entry and validation is completed within timescales
  • Manage accurate prospect information through CRM system
  • Ensure prices are delivered within time scale with a high level of accuracy and minimum error
  • Understanding the end-to-end customer journey
  • High level understanding of the Sales Process
  • Effective and organised use of Admin Systems to store documents appropriately.
  • Organisation of the day-to-day pipeline
  • Communication with the team about ongoing deals queries
  • Maintaining awareness of industry and company knowledge
  • Responsible for one drive- data input ensuring data is saved appropriately and is kept up to date
  • Work closely with sales support team
  • Own the relationship with the multiple customers to drive customer value
  • Renew customer contracts to deliver margin in line with objectives
  • To seek, develop and conclude early renewal opportunities to prevent contracts going out to tender
  • Where renewal tenders are issued, the role holder will be expected to; organise the processing, pricing, negotiation and winning of the renewal tenders
  • Through an understanding of customer needs, identify and exploit opportunities to increase value for both the customer and the company

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Knowledge of energy markets, as well as strong customer facing experience is key towards helping the company achieve their target of being the UKs go to energy partner
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of organisation skills
  • Can work on own initiative to meet deadlines
  • Manage multiple assignments at once whilst maintaining a high level of service
  • Adaptable and Flexible with proactively anticipating stumbling blocks and develop contingency plans
  • Wiliness to take responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work
  • Be customer focused with an emphasis on the customer needs and goes beyond basic service expectations to help implement solutions
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
  • Team Player – Someone who encourages team unity through sharing information and expertise
  • Energy industry experienced is preferred
  • As an Account Manager it would be preferable that you had at least 3 years’ experience within the industry and are used to negotiating and building relationships
  • The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator and will have knowledge of gas and electricity procurement
  • Self-Management – able to prioritise, meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments at once whilst maintaining a high level of service.
  • Adaptable and Flexible – proactively anticipate stumbling blocks and develop contingency plans
  • Accountable – willing to take responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and identify the best ways to achieve results with little oversight

SALARY AND WORKING HOURS

  • Hybrid Working
  • Monday – Friday
  • 9am – 5pm
  • 5 hours per week
  • Salary range: up to £48,000 + commission (dependant on experience)
