Our client is a leading environmental services company based on the outskirts of the city centre, providing specialist surveying solutions to B2B clients nationwide. They are currently recruiting for a Junior Account Manager to join their stable and successful Commercial Team in a career-focused role offering full training and development. This is a rare opportunity to work your way up in a secure environment with solid long-term prospects, realistically achievable by a hard-working and self-motivated candidate with a minimum of 12 months’ experience in a target-driven sales role.

About the Job

As Junior Account Manager, your role will involve assisting the Commercial Team in the management and retention of the client portfolio, supporting new client acquisitions and tender processes. Whilst the role will be target-driven and be largely focused on new business development initially, your duties will include researching companies, identifying/mapping key contacts, preparing targeted marketing materials, submitting tender applications/quotes, with only 2 hours per day being spent on the phones on average.

Your objective will be to secure face-to-face appointments, which you will attend alongside the Commercial Manager who will provide full training in contract negotiation and pitching the sale. You will take ownership of any new client wins, earning commission from day one and retaining the client for the lifecycle of the account. As a specialist service, there are few competitors and projects range from £100s-1m+, meaning your client base and earnings potential will only continue to grow with your years with the company.

The starting salary is £26,000basic with a realistic OTE of £25-30,000 in your first year, although this is completely uncapped. Your success will depend on the value of accounts won, but previous team members have moved into the role of Senior Account Manager within 2-3 years where the average earnings are £26,000 per year. You will also be given a company car or car allowance, mobile phone, laptop and supported through external industry accreditations.

Person Specification

Suitable candidates will need a good standard of education (a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades C or above including Maths and English, but ideally some evidence of higher education as well). You will also need a minimum of 12 months’ experience in a target-driven sales role. Sector background is unimportant – construction, surveying, manufacturing related industries would be ideal and preference will be given towards candidates with the most relevant experience, but full training is provided so experience outside these areas will be considered.

• Intermediate IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook & Excel)
• Full clean driving license
