Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Fulfilment Specialist ensures materials are available to all areas of the business on time, at the agreed price, and to the agreed specification. They are responsible for the day-to-day ordering of materials and working with suppliers and other departments to resolve any queries and administrative issues.
Job Description:
* Using MRP, the production forecast or Kanban cards identify orders that need to be placed.
* Ensure all orders are placed in a timely manner making sure materials are available to production teams as planned.
* Ensure orders are progressed on a regular basis making sure deliveries from the suppliers are maintained.
* Identify potential shortages, communicate shortages to the Supply Chain Manager and work with suppliers to overcome shortages.
* Ensure all orders placed meet the cost, lead-time, and specification requirements, highlight any variances to the Supply Change manager and ensure approval is given.
* Ensure the correct stock levels of materials are always maintained and safety stock levels are reviewed in line with changing demand and obsolescence.
* Maintain and update MRP supply chain information including part numbers, stock levels, lead-time cost, minimum order quantities (MOQ) and supplier details.
* Work with other members of the Supply Chain team to identify price or lead-time improvements.
* Ensure purchase orders are updated in accordance with any incomplete orders.
* Work with the Finance team and the supply chain to resolve any invoice queries
* Provide information and take part in supplier review meetings.
* Work with the Supply Chain Manager and Strategic Sourcing Manager to identify new supplier that provide cost lead-time or other advantages.
* Ensure all new suppliers are on-boarded in line with procedures.
* Contribute to the Vendor rating process and work with underperforming suppliers to improve performance.
Education / Qualifications / Experience:
* Working within a similar role within a manufacturing business
* Ideally University Graduate or CIPS qualified.
* Good level of experience of using MRP or ERP systems
* Good negotiator and can manage difficult situations
* Is good at multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment
* Experience of data analysis and making data-driven decisions.
