Job Description

The Forecasting and Capacity Manager will manage a team of three and most orders are made to order whilst covering multiple supply chains.

The Forecasting and Capacity Manager will be responsible for ensuring that orders and forecast data are accurate and effectively received from demand planning and fed into and managed in the ERP and planning systems. They will play a key role in the S&OP process and be pivotal for the business’s Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities

* The coordination and accountability for Supply Planning Performance and service level delivery for all 3rd party sourced and manufactured product.

* Manage the supply planning team to ensure on time delivery of supply and distribution plans to meet customer demand across the network.

* To be responsible for, and to own, the production schedules delivering in advance a sustainable plan to effectively utilise all resources and maintain recoveries inline with the budgeting process.

* Plan and implement supply chain optimisation that will drive Inventory & waste down.

* Coordinate the work with the material purchase and sales support activities through the planning team and assist in developing a pull system with flow. Fully understand the demand requirement over the forecasting period and convert this is to an effective supply plan including long-range forecasting.

* Work with the Procurement team to review and simplify/eliminate the purchasing contract activity to deliver a simplified purchasing process.

* To maintain and present an accurate register of products WIP, week by week & to provide root cause analysis where required.

* Implement continuous improvements to drive and improve the S&OP processes.

* Inspire, motivate and develop team members.

The Successful Applicant

The Forecasting and Planning Manager will come from a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background and ideally be from the paper, tissue, plastic, Health-care / Pharmaceutical or FMCG industry.

Experience

* 5 -10 years planning experience with a minimum 5 years’ experience as a Planning Manager ideally gained within a FMCG environment

* Strong planning and ERP experience.

* Strong data analysis and reporting skills

* Experience of managing and developing staff and building a high performing team

* Proven experience of identifying and implementing best practice processes

* A proven track record of working effectively with other departments including, Marketing, Sales, and other Supply Chain functions

* Experience of working closely with the Finance team on budgeting processes would be an advantage.

* A track record of delivering first-class cost-effective customer service within product supply.

* Advanced Excel experience is desirable

* Leadership experience
