Software Developer

Global marketing agency is looking to recruit a Developer to support a number of projects in a terabyte environment. Reporting to the Head of Development the key objective of the role is to ensure that all database development projects are delivered to brief on time and are fit for purpose.

Responsible for:

* Develop system functionality according to agreed specification and test developed functions to agreed quality standards
* Participate in technical designs and design reviews with other members of the development team
* Participate in the production of functional specifications and technical specifications
* Assess application design for impacts on the Database and whether it is in line with the applications strategy
* Handover developed functionality to Operational team
* Investigate system and data issues, e.g. slow or non-working screens or jobs, recommend changes highlighted by issues and work with the Production team to develop solutions
* Work with the Production team to ensure that any development undertaken maintains or enhances the database
* Maintain version control system to track and securely store all live code development
* Produce code to agreed coding standards
* Liaise with System Analysts and Project Managers to discuss briefs, confirm timings and approach
* Follow Developer policies and tracking all projects through the Quality Management System
* Accuracy of all database development projects are delivered to brief on time and are fit for purpose

Skills and requirements:

* Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or later
* TSQL
* C#
* VB.net
* Ability to understand, interpret database development briefs and data requirements
* Write supporting Documents
* Ability to engage with, and present to clients and stakeholders as required
* Write and speak clearly, fluently and confidently
* High degree of technology and PC literacy
* Work well as part of a team and is cooperative and supportive
* An organised, proactive and confident person with the ability to work under pressure and within a diverse, fast-paced environment
* Effective communicator
* Demonstrates passion, enthusiasm and ambition
* Displays a positive and objective approach
