Software Developer
Description
The Software Developer / Programmer plays a key role in the design, testing, and maintenance of the Company’s software products.
General Responsibilities
The Developer is responsible for writing and coding new applications, or improving existing applications based on a specification provided by an Analyst or Consultant.
Specific Responsibilities
The specific responsibilities of the role would consist of (but not be limited to):
• Reviewing current systems
• Presenting ideas for system improvements
• Working closely with an analyst, consultant, and other staff
• Producing detailed specifications (where required)
• Writing program code
• Testing applications in controlled, and/or real situations before going live
• Maintaining software once up and running
• Liaising with end users
Skills and experience expected for this role:
• Teamworking skills
• Numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to work to another’s design
• Commercial awareness
• Good communication skills
• A thorough approach
Technical knowledge should include of:
• Visual Studio / Visual Basic/VB.NET/advantage/c#.NET
• Microsoft SQL Server (or MySQL)
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Web technologies – experience of RESTful API’s
• Understanding of networking
Salary range: £36,000 – £48,000
