Salary: £30 – £31.2 per hour

A leading premium automotive business and leading to move towards electric autonomous vehicles.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for a Senior Systems Component Engineer, that will be responsible for specifying Air suspension systems on the next generation of our luxury vehicles. The majority of the components will be physical components and subcomponents including ASU, Air Valve Blocks, Air Pipes and Air Reservoir, ECU and integrated software platforms into vehicle programmes.

You will be responsible for ensuring the content is properly specified, working with external stakeholders and suppliers to deliver against a specification and that the delivered system is fully verified for inclusion on a vehicle program meeting the programme requirements for quality, cost and time.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

* Technical design and Specifications in place for component and system
* Lead and coach Air Suspension Team on technical issues
* Leading Air Suspension design reviews
* Air Suspension component designs achieve Air System performance
* Air Suspension System and components meet program gateways
* Support colleagues by interfacing between Product Strategy, Advanced Product Creation and Marketing to ensure the programme delivers the expected product actions in a robust manner

WHAT YOULL NEED

You will possess a strong understanding and knowledge of ensuring the content is properly specified, the supplier delivers against this specification and that the delivered system is fully verified for inclusion on a vehicle program meeting the programme requirements for quality, cost and time.

You will possess the ability to be able to contribute to the negotiation and agreement of targets for the modules and ensure all programme deliverables are tracked, monitored, delivered and reported accurately and on time at each gateway and organise and lead appropriate interim review events.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Proven technical knowledge related to the Air Suspension Systems delivery
* Experience in developing technical requirements specifications and associated test plans
* Experience in planning, coordination, delivery and reporting of requirements to support the Cycle Plan programmes using Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS) principles
* Experience in delivering technical products through a team, utilising strong people management skills
* Experience in delivering projects in an automotive or manufacturing environment
* An individual with a customer-first mindset who is easy to do business with and makes people feel special, driven to deliver experiences that are personalised, transparent and dependable
* An individual, who works independently, is results-driven, demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance with the ability to deliver operational plans in a complex, highly demanding environment.
* Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and communicate at all levels
* Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
