Continuous Improvement Leader (Interim 12-18 months)

Our North Devon client is seeking to appoint an experienced Continuous Improvements Professional to undertake an interim position, following a secondment to a 12-18 month project.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Support the CI Manager in all Lean-orientated activities, to embed CI principles and techniques into all processes.
* Promote a culture of change, continuous improvement, process improvement and waste elimination.
* Champion and lead lean initiatives in all functions focused on process improvement and elimination of waste with clear measurable outcomes.
* Educate all employees, but especially leaders, in Lean Sigma methodologies and techniques, and ensure there is a continuing programme to maintain and develop knowledge, awareness and commitment.
* Organise and drive Kaizen events.

Experience and Background
* Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering, manufacturing or similar discipline.
* Formal Lean Training, to at least Six Sigma Green Belt level.
* Strong, analytical, able to drive change.
* A number of years of lean implementation experience (probably in excess of five years) in manufacturing.
* A good understanding of Lean Techniques including Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Single Piece Flow, 5S, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, SPC, Six Sigma, Kanban, SMEDs etc.
* Successful leadership of a minimum of ten Kaizen events, typically five day events, in a manufacturing environment.
