Structural Engineer

Salary: £30,000 – £38,400 per year

Large Multi-discipline Consultancy in Birmingham require a Chartered Structural Engineer. My clients core business sectors cover buildings, transport, energy, water, environment, health, education, industry, oil and gas, communications and international development. Due to an increase in commercial building and industrial schemes in the UK and overseas, my client require a Senior Engineer.

The role will involve a range of challenging projects. You will be involved with the project delivery, management of design projects, direct interface with the client, design teams and key D&B contractors in the UK. You will be requested to assist the management of the structural team. Collate with the MEP team and deliver the schemes as a project delivery engineer. You will be requested to develop junior staff in the team.

I’m looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer who is either a newly chartered engineer or is working towards the qualification to support our structural team. The ideal candidate will be:

Chartered MIStructE/ MICE (or equivalent) or close to qualifying
Experienced in delivering design consultancy services on structural engineering projects (buildings or transportation)
Have a master’s degree in structural engineering
Enthusiastic and ambitious
Self-motivated with good organisational capability
Excellent communication skills
Have a good awareness of building information modelling (BIM)
Revit software experience Desirable criteria:
Experience within a commercial engineering environment
Experience of both working direct for the client, and design and build
Management and Client interface experience
Chartered engineer or working towards the status
