Job Summary
Electronics Design Engineer with demonstrable experience of delivering high integrity solutions in a regulated industry is required.
This role will operate as the program technical lead for a group of specialist electronics engineers (including, Analogue, Power, Motor Drives and Controls Engineers) and will be accountable for technically delivering design solutions.
This role will also interface with teams across the business, with various engineering groups including mechanical, electrical and electronics, manufacturing engineering, supply chain and production therefore excellent organizational & communication skills are of particular importance.
Responsibility includes execution of highly technical projects spanning from concept development and requirements definition through to detailed design, requirements verification and in service specialist electronics support. These projects require the use of simulation and analysis tools, design for reliability, Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) and design for manufacture methodologies, as appropriate for civil & military aerospace applications.
The role will report to the Engineering Manager – Electronics.
Job Responsibility:
Experienced in the design of electronics for motor control applications or similar, including knowledge of specifying electronic device parameters and assessment for stress and derating, experience with Cadence schematic capture process or similar, development and verification of aerospace electronics solutions as required. Knowledge and experience of modelling and simulation tools is essential, these could include PSpice, LTSpice, SIMetrix, ModelSim, MATLAB and/or SABER.
Good communication skills including report writing and project status reporting both written and verbal.This role will involve presentation of project technical status to leadership team.
Own accountability for the deliverables of your allocating projects, including leading progress reviews with technical team, task management of allocated resources, setting clear expectations, priorities, coaching team members to meet targets etc.
Work alongside the analogue, power electronics, controls and electromagnetics engineers and associated product teams to develop motor control solutions for various products solutions including but not limited to Brushless DC, AC and brushed DC motor controllers.
Support technical input for internal and customer Design Reviews as required.
Work to aerospace standards such as ARP4754A, DO160, DO254, DO178 and other required standards as applicable. This can be trained as long as you’ve experience from similar high integrity industries.
