PHP Software Engineer – Fully Remote anywhere in UK with occasional Monthly / Quarterly visits to Cardiff HQ

Senior and Lead Positions Available

£70,000 – £85,000 + Benefits.

The people you work with are all highly skilled developers from a variety of backgrounds. They have a team of 12 developers divided into 4 teams with a 5th in the works. Role Responsibilities

As a Senior/Lead Software Engineer you’ll be entrusted to develop their RMS platform which is composed of several web applications, each with its own specific tech stack. Typically this means working in the languages of JavaScript and PHP, in the context of many different frameworks and libraries. There are endless opportunities to learn and grow. You’ll be given the time and space to put your excellent programming skills into practice. They have an interesting and varied roadmap; it’s a wish-list packed with innovative features waiting to be brought to life, and you’ll work collaboratively with the team to do just that. Together with the Design and QA teams you’ll determine how their software should look and function, always with their users in mind. You’ll interact with the Sales, Marketing and Customer Success teams to ensure that the product is well received by clients, prospects and the wider market.

As one of the most senior members of the team you’ll be expected to play a major role in deciding how the product and processes should evolve. They embrace new technologies and strive to follow best practice, always with the goal of shipping high quality software on a regular schedule, and you’ll help us figure out how to achieve these goals

You’ll line-manage a few fellow Engineers, identifying appropriate goals for them to attain and ensuring that they have the support that they need to do so. You will also assume responsibility for delivering several key roadmap items, some of which you will work on first-hand with the remainder tackled by members of your team. This will make full use of your skills: your ability to eke out requirements from internal and external stakeholders, write appropriately comprehensive specifications and documentation, lead and inspire others, and design and craft impeccable software.

Senior:

  • will need a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • University degree in a relevant field, minimum of 2:1
  • Strong Knowledge of PHP and JavaScript
  • Exposure to front end development frameworks
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and shipping high quality products and features, in a leadership role.
  • Experience of working with a lean, agile approach

Lead:

Skills / Experience required

  • You will need a minimum of 7 years experience.
  • University degree in a relevant field, minimum of 2:1
  • Strong Knowledge of PHP and JavaScript
  • Exposure to front end development frameworks
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and shipping high quality products and features, in a leadership role.
  • Experience of working with a lean, agile approach
  • Experience mentoring other Engineers
