A fantastic opportunity has arisen for one of our clients based in Letchworth to work as a Junior Design Engineer. This is a family owned company with more than 65 years of quality production and expansion with a global network of subsidiary’s.

Job Description

To assist the production of accurate and cost effective design applications for the company’s products and systems in order to achieve the revenue and profit objectives whilst providing first class customer service.

Initially the post will be a junior position but it is envisaged that the successful candidate will work towards Design Engineer status over an agreed course of time.

Having achieved the status of Design Engineer you will have good relationships with all the company’s customers and also be able to nurture new customers.

You will be able to complete designs from conception, this also may include site surveys to completion with minimal assistance from senior members of the department.

You will be expected to work under pressure in a small but busy department, show commitment to achieve and progress within the company.

Candidate Criteria

Competent in the use of AutoCad, both 2d and 3d applications and show an aptitude to use associated software with regard to presentation packages

Previous experience of analysis packages would be an advantage

Must be fully conversant with Microsoft office applications and whilst not essential it will be advantageous to be able to produce formatted spreadsheets in Excel.

You will be qualified to a minimum of relevant degree status and be prepared to develop your career path to include membership of The Institute of Civil/Structural Engineers.

There will be training in their German Technical Bureau and this may last up to two weeks.
